Adding Infrared Support for New Mobile Devices
- Reference hardware: Google Nexus 7 (ASUS 2012 Edition)
- Development hardware: HTC Droid DNA
Goal
We have two mobile devices. One has been tested and is proven to correctly operated the Puzzlebox Orbit through the infrared transmitter (the Nexus 7). The other currently does not (HTC Droid DNA).
Technique 2 - Digital Oscilloscope
Comparison: Amplitude
- Graph
- Top (Yellow): Nexus 7 (default output)
- Bottom (Cyan): Droid DNA (with advanced control "inverted" enabled)
- Droid DNA at 93% volume
- Droid DNA at 100% volume
- Top (Yellow): Nexus 7 (default output)
- Bottom (Cyan): Droid DNA (with advanced control "inverted" enabled)
- 284mV amplitude for Nexus 7
- 240mV amplitude for Droid DNA
Comparison: Boost Audio Sound Enhancer
- Yellow: Nexus 7 at 100% volume (default output)
- Cyan: Droid DNA at 100% volume (with advanced control "inverted" enabled)
- Droid DNA without Boost Audio Sound Enhancer
- Droid DNA with Boost Audio Sound Enhancer
