NookHD - Difficultly Flying Orbit

We received the following message from a customer:

I'm trying to fly the Orbit helicopter and have followed the steps in the guide/instructional video. The part I am stuck at is getting the actual helicopter to function. The Bluetooth connection is paired with the headset and the Puzzlebox Orbit app is receiving the signal (the green, red, and blue signals are there), but when I turn on the helicopter (after having adjusted the attention and meditation bars down to test it), nothing happens. I've tried using all the channels (A,B,C) and inverting the control signal, but nothing has happened. I've restarted it a bunch of times as well.

I'm using a NookHD to try and fly this thing.

Notes: The NookHD runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

In response to Ak's questions:

  1. When the "yellow" bar fills, does the blue light on the IR Transmitter light up? -- Yes.
  1. Have you turned the Volume to it's highest setting after inserting the IR Transmitter into the Audio Port? --Yes.

It functions on my Android phone, but when I try it on the Nook HD, it doesn't do anything.
